THE DAY BAGELS CAME TO TIMBERLANE

Once upon a time, somewhere near the first of July, 1979, Mark Faiwell ordered the kitchen crew to serve the camp what was rumored to be bagels. Somehow, these innocent little creatures were stone-hard. Now, I’m not saying that they were slightly stale, but I’ve seen concrete bricks crumble easier than them!

Bouncing competitions were set up throughout the lodge, proving that there actually was some use for these so-called delicacies.

Lucky for us, the camp nurse was in the lodge at the time. Fortunately, no one was taken seriously ill. Some people were noted and quoted, such as Scott Seideman who said “My god this is hard!”

Bill “Shoppe” Doner was found by this roving reporter to be using a hammer and chisel, ‘his tools’.

We know it was ‘hard’ bringing these bagels to Timberlane, but it was harder still trying to eat them.
