Cabin Challenges
by Mike Kanovitz

One subject rarely talked about in TIMBERLIFE or newsletters is cabin challenges. The challenge is made and accepted by one member of each cabin involved at the end of a meal. Included in the acceptance is an agreement on the type of game to be played, and the winner’s reward. Games of basketball, softball, and trampball are most often played, although such favorites as leap frog and tiddlywinks are occasionally chosen.

Recently, the Senior All-Star softball team challenged any group of staff members to a game of softball, to which the captains of the losing team would be syrupped and feathered. This shows that camp challenges are not restricted to cabins.

In these games, good sportsmanship prevails, as the idea is only to have a good time.
