Archery is one of the more popular sport
at camp. It is a sport that kids of all ages can learn to enjoy.
At first you shoot at 15-yard targets for a series of awards that go
from 60 to 100 points for 30 arrows (six rounds of five arrows).
After you finish your 15-yards you go on the 20-yard target and from
then on to the 30-yard target, and finally the 50-yard target where
you can win the highest award of American Archer.
Howie Segal, who is in charge of the Archery program, has attained
the coveted American Archer award. Howie has been in charge of the
program for four years. Segal is assisted by P.A., David Stern.
We also have an Archery team which competes against other camps. The
scores of both teams in these competitions are figured out by the
combined score of all the team members of each camp. So far this year
our teams have not had much success but we are looking forward to a
much improved team for our next competition.
