Porkies Trip Takes 55 to Michigan
by Bill Barenholtz

Every year around Parents’ Weekend, the Porcupine Mountain trip goes out. To get there driving, it takes about four hours by our bus. You have to go across the Wisconsin-Michigan boarder.

You also climb up and down a mountain. Sometimes you go swimming in Lake Superior.

This year on the “Porkies” we swam in Lake Superior, climbed a 3,000 foot mountain and went back down. We went to Union River and swam as well.

The tripping staff who helps so much consists of Craig Ukman, Scott Benzuly, Glenn Fisher, Daryl Beadle and Don Friedman.

Some more trips are the Canadian canoe trip, which some people think is the best. Also, other trips are canoe trips.

This year 55 people went on the Porcupine Mountains trip. The limit is usually 40, but the staff let 15 extra people go. The “Porkies” is one of the best trips besides the Canadian canoe trip.
